CNI Asesores Financieros is a financial consulting firm with a track record spanning more than twenty-five (25). Since its incorporation in 1991, CNI has acted as a financial advisor on important and complex company merger and acquisition transactions, valuations, procurement of financial resources (both debt and equity), debt restructuring, and resolution of conflicts among shareholders. CNI’s clients include state companies, multinational companies, publicly listed companies, and private family-owned companies. Since it began its operations, CNI Asesores Financieros has been involved in Financial Valuations and other advisories for an estimated value (Sell & Buy-Side) of over US$ 500 Million.

Senior Financial Analyst
Founding Partner of the CNI Group. From Panama, he coordinates regional advisory services for CNI’s clients, and promotes and executes transactions both in Venezuela and the rest of the region.
He is a director of a several Venezuelan companies, including Modusistema (Herman Miller Office furniture). He had successful career with Chase Manhattan Bank in New York, which included being a part of the bank’s committee for restructuring Venezuela’s public foreign debt in 1989-1990, and was the Vice-President of financial institutions in Chile, Central America, and Venezuela.
He was a Founding Partner and former Advisor of Mibanco, a Micro-Finance Development Bank in Venezuela; co-founder of VR Business Brokers, Coral Springs, Florida, an office which is part of a franchise group of leading business brokerage and sales companies in North America.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University.
A Founding Partner of CNI Asesores Financieros, he was also the founder, president and director of Mibanco, a Retail Sector Micro-Company Development Bank.
He was co-founder of VR Business Brokers, Coral Springs, Florida, that is a part of a franchise group of leading business brokerage and sales companies in North America.
He is a former Director of the Caracas Trade and Industry Chamber, a former Director of the Caracas Stock Exchange, and a member of the Venezuela-USA Business People’s Council (CEVEU); he has been a director of a number of Venezuelan companies in the financial sector and is an Investment Consultant registered with the National Securities Commission.
He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Babson College and a Master’s Degree in Law from Harvard University. He is a Lawyer graduated from the “Andrés Bello” Catholic University and a Fellow of Harvard University Kennedy School of Government.

Professional with 30 years of experience in finance, logistics, marketing, sales, and general management working for logistics, editorial, mass consumer, business, and insurance companies. He has vast experience in mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, company valuations, capital markets, corporate governance, and company turn-arounds. He was the Executive President of 3PLogistics Group (3 years) and of C.A. Editora Nacional Newspaper (9 years); and CFO (12 years) and Logistics Manager (4 years) of Mavesa S.A. a food and agribusiness company.
Member on the Board of Directors of Óptica Caroní, C.A., Fuller Interamericana, C.A., and Iberoamericana de Seguros, C.A. He is a member of the Veneuelan Engineers’ Association and the Venezuela-USA Business People’s Council (CEVEU). He was formerly a member on the Board of Directors of Corimón C.A., C.A. Bananera Venezolana, Patagon.com, C.N.A. Seguros La Previsora C.A. Insurance group, Grupo de Diarios América (GDA), and C.A. Editora El Nacional, as well as the Caracas Trade, Industry, and Services Chamber and the Venezuelan-American Friendship Association (AVAA). From 1997 to 1999, he was the President of the Venezuelan Finance Executives’ Institute (IVEF).
Holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of New Orleans, Louisiana State University System, and is a Metallurgical Engineer graduated from the Central University of Venezuela.
Directs the promotional and execution efforts of CNI Asesores Financieros in the entire region, focusing especially on Venezuela, Peru, and Brazil.
Has 25 years of experience in the Mass Consumer Sector (agricultural, foods and beverage industry) with multinational companies (Coca-Cola, Kraft General Foods, Philip Morris, Plumrose) in Latin America, holding Executive positions (COO, VP for Marketing and Sales, VP for Operations) and doing valuations in the Business Planning and Development Area (Mergers and Acquisitions; Industrial Infrastructure and Logistics. Project Management Office; Strategic and Financial Planning).
Highly knowledgeable in professional services: (a) Consultancy in Business and Commercial Strategy, Supply Chain, Post-Merger Operational Integration; (b) Private Equity/Venture Capital; and (c) Boards of Directors and Management Boards.
Holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and has pursued advanced studies in Finance and Global Supply Chains (AMP) at the Instituto de Empresas (IE in Spain) and at Fundan University (Shanghai, China). He is a Mechanical Engineer graduated from the “Simón Bolívar” University (Venezuela).

Participated with Management and a group of local investors in a Management Buy-Out to acquire Royal & Sun Alliance Seguros (Venezuela). Directed the divestiture process of Seguros Chubb de Venezuela and prepared the company for its subsequent sale. Participated in the investment process of Seguros Aetna in Seguros Mercantil. Advised and participated in the Seguros Los Andes acquisition by Central Banco Universal and has managed various telecommunications company sales processes.
He Is a Director at various Venezuelan companies and has held the position of President of affiliated companies having their parent company in the USA and the United Kingdom. Is a former Director of the Venezuelan Insurers Chamber and the National Insurance Board.
He Is a Lawyer graduated from the “Andrés Bello” Catholic University and holds a Management Specialist’s Degree from IESA; studied Management and Organizational Structure in Munich, Zurich, and London.

Worked at Procter & Gamble for 28 years. From 2000 to 2008, he was the VP for Finance and Accounting at Procter & Gamble for Latin America, based in Caracas, Venezuela. Also directed the Analysis, Negotiation, and Selection Area in Panama (2008) and the new Procter & Gamble headquarters for Latin America in that country.
He has broad experience in finance, accounting, sales, marketing, customer service, and logistics and Is deeply knowledgeable of Latin American markets, with emphasis on Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Since 2009, he has ventured as a private investor in the restaurant industry with a presence in Panama and Argentina.
José Alonso is a Louisiana State University graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance and Accounting.
Has worked in the financial field for over 15 years; is a former Senior Consultant with KPMG for Financial Advisory Services in the Caracas office. She has actively participated in projects for important domestic and multinational companies established in Venezuela, advising on: company, brand, and fixed asset (impairment of assets) valuations, economic-financial feasibility studies, financial diagnosis and analysis, designing and preparing financial projections, strategic analysis, financial statement translation under Financial Accounting Standard Board N° 52 (FASB-52) and International Financial Information Standard N° 21 and N° 29 (IFRS-21 and IFRS-29), application of accounting principles requiring financial calculations (IFRS and FASB).
Actively participated in the valuation of Stanford Bank, S.A., Banco Comercial and in the sale of the institution, in the internationalization plans of an important Venezuelan automotive group to Puerto Rico and of an important Panamanian industrial group to Central America.
He holds an MBA and a Master’s Degree in Finance from IESA. Is a Bachelor of Arts in Administrative Sciences in Banking and Finance from the Metropolitan University in Caracas (1999).
Has worked in the corporate finance and macroeconomics analysis areas and, formerly, as a Senior Economist in the Economic, Planning, and Finance Research area with Ecoanalítica, and as a consultant in the Corporate Finance Department. Has actively participated in the evaluation of investment projects for public infrastructure, and advised on the valuation of: thermo-electric and hydro-electric central plants, extra high- voltage transmission lines, gas pipe, electricity substations and environmental clean-up projects.
He holds an MBA and a Master’s Degree in Finance from IESA. Is an Economist, from the Central University of Venezuela and has held the position of Macroeconomics Professor at the “Andrés Bello” Catholic University.
